Homemade Teething Cookies

My 11-month old, Mia, is in the process of cutting her second tooth.  I used to buy Earth’s Best Organic Teething Biscuits, but figured I’d try to make some on my own.  After browsing bunches of recipes, I came up with this one.  They were cheap, easy & she loves them!

Recipe for Homemade Teething Cookies:

  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1 tbsp. canola oil
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 of a banana, mashed
  • 1/4 c. milk
  • 2 tbsp. uncooked old-fashioned oatmeal
  • 2 tbsp. wheat germ
  • 2 tbsp. light brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp. baby cereal
  • 1 c. whole wheat flour
  • Butter, cinnamon & sugar (*optional for dusting)

Mix all wet ingredients, then mix all dry ingredients.  Combine the wet and dry ingredients.  Flour a large working surface, roll out dough to 1/2 inch thick.  Cut with cookie cutters (I used mini for mini hands).  Brush with melted butter and dust with cinnamon sugar.  Bake at 350 for 40-45 minutes.  Let harden and cool before serving.
